In a dynamic collaboration, Coronado High School Seniors mentored Gallina Elementary K-1 students in the STEAM lab during their skeletal system unit. The younger learners engaged with the Anatomage table, exploring 3D models of the human skeleton, while seniors provided guidance to make complex concepts accessible.
The hands-on experience continued as the K-1 students used 3D printers to create their own skeleton models, sparking curiosity and excitement about science. This mentorship not only helped the younger students gain confidence and understanding but also allowed the seniors to develop their leadership and communication skills.
This initiative highlights the value of collaborative learning in STEAM education, fostering a love of science and discovery in both age groups.
